Your new favorite breakfast. Late season, sweet blackberry mash made ahead & at the ready, grocery-staple mascarpone, and a bread canvas of choice. For a nutrient powerhouse, I recommend my low-carb seedy bread, but your favorite whole wheat toast works well for a less carb-conscious option.

Over medium heat, warm a small saucepan.
Add blackberries, water, honey and lemon juice, stirring, until combined.
Increase heat to medium-high, bringing fruit to a boil, stirring often.
Decrease heat to low, simmering for 10 minutes.
Remove from heat.
Spread warm mash on 8 slices of toasted bread.
Top each with one tablespoon mascarpone.
Serve immediately.
